Get Out
This movie had me on edge the entire time. I felt deeply uncomfortable from the moment I saw all the Black servants to the very en and I think that was exactly the point. The discomfort never lets up. What impacted me most was how skin color played a role in nearly every interaction Chris had with the people he met. It mirrors something that still happens in real life, which makes the horror feel disturbingly grounded instead of fictional. The moment that stayed with me the most was the final scene when he sees the police car and instinctively raises his hands, as if he’s already guilty. That reaction says everything. It reflects the constant fear and vigilance people of color are forced to live with. This wasn’t just a horror movie, it was a social commentary.
