Whiplash
I regret not watching this masterpiece sooner. The way this film portrays obsession is terrifyingly good, it made me yearn right alongside Andrew. I was rooting for him the entire time. I couldn't stand that man Fletcherer for a second. Every scene with him felt like psychological warfare. It starts off so innocent, so hopeful, and slowly descends into pure madness, ending in one of the most jaw-dropping performances I’ve ever seen. There really aren’t any words to describe what this movie made me feel. It awakened something in me I hadn’t felt in a long time, that overwhelming mix of anxiety, motivation, and obsession. This movie isn’t just about music. It’s about addiction. About sacrifice. About how far you’re willing to go to be extraordinary.
