The Doom Generation
The Doom Generation is the second film in Gregg Araki’s doomsday trilogy. I watched the third film (Nowhere 1997)) for the soundtrack pretty much and loved it. After that I watched this movie which was incredible. Starting out I wanted something similar to nowhere and got exactly that. Key similarities were that they both have soundtracks that are THE best. They both featured a lot of sex and a lot of blood. This film features, Jesus and Mary Chain - Sometimes Always, Ride - Leave The All Behind, Slowdive - Allison, Slowdive - Blue Skied An Clear, and Porno for Pyros - Dogs Rule the Night and many other 90s alternative shoegaze songs. The soundtrack for both films are incredible. I will say that I prefer Nowhere because it’s more fast paced, it doesn't feature torture scenes, and has Catherine Wheel, Lush, and Hole.
