Nineteen Eighty-Four
I quite liked the set design and the vibe of the movie. It definitely captures that cold and depressing atmosphere. And of course, John Hurt as Winston was great.
Although I have to say Big Brother didn’t feel as intense as in the book. In the novel, the party feels constantly oppressive, but in the movie it didn’t hit as hard for me. There were also some little changes, like Winston being stretched as torture instead of being electroshocked, or people calling each other "brother" and "sister" instead of "comrade".
But despite these little changes, it’s a decent adaptation. It may not fully capture the intensity of the book, but it’s still worth watching.
