Cure
What happened in the second half of the movie? No clue. Did I enjoy it? Yes. I'm pretty sure you're supposed to be confused though (or I'm just dumb) Can I just say, this isn't a horror movie but I got SO scared, probably because I was watching all alone in a large dark auditorium and sometimes the door would click as if someone had just opened it. At one point the projector suddenly powered off and started rolling itself, for a second I was convinced my time was up and I thought "finally!" but unfortunately I am still alive. There are no jumpscares or really any traditionally scary situations but what's scary about the film is the implication behind the way the murders happen and the way the film puts you in a state of not knowing what the hell is real and what's not. At the end, I was like "???", but this is one of those films that you have to ruminate on afterwards, and after a bit of thinking here and a bit of pondering there and watching a video essay or two, I did come to appreciate this movie a lot more.
