Beautiful Boy
years ago when i tried to watch it i got triggered and stopped halfway through this time watching it again i noticed something more clearly when a person cant get rid of the real pain inside them they often find something to suppress it and they temporarily feel better that relief feels so strong that they dont realize it can turn into a deeper addiction because at least for a while it silences the pain the film portrays this feeling very realistically especially the moment when the character takes the substance and immediately feels good as if they have finally found what they were looking for timothee chalamets performance carries that reality very well it is not exaggerated or artificial on the contrary it is disturbingly real overall to me the film felt less like a dramatized story and more like a very real and heavy experience i wish i had a father like that because when i was in that state i had my close friend beside me the one who prayed for me not to die
