Extracurricular
Wow...just wow
The final few episodes compared to the rest of the show felt like two different stories completely. The suspense as well as the frustration you feel when watching this is truly palpable l can't think of a time where I've been so annoyed with characters and they're choices, amd that's deliberate and really well put
Following the events through the point of view of Ji-soo, you get to see him spiral into a dark place and by the end of it he's on the verge of true insanity. Not to mention one of the end scenes, where Ji-soo is collapsed on the staircase, staring into the camera, it was really unnerving. Not a feeling I had felt any other time during the show, or through any media in recent memory, it felt very reminiscent of the ending to 'Memories of Murder', tho more eerily chilling rather than simply unsettling.
Both Ji-soo and Gyu-ri are very annoying yet likable characters (especially Gyu-ri, I mean ffs I've never been so pissed off than when I see her pull her trap card, her signature move if you will, which is fucking everything up even more). However, i think the most annoying part of this show is the absolute dastardly display of cock blocking, perhaps ever! I mean they didn't even kiss! That pissed me right off, their fate is unknown and a potential tragic ending for the pair of them and they don't even confess their love for one another? Cheers yeah what the fuck?
It is a shame that it's a one season show, as there are questions left unanswered. However, I think in this case it's quite nice to not know the answer, as it truly is up to the viewer's interpretation on not only the immediate outcome, but also the dreaded aftermath.
I'm probably rambling on and half of this may not make any sense, but I'm just brain storming. Honestly, once I recover from this watch I may have to re-watch it, just for clarity as well as putting together my final verdict.
