*Forever my girl. * How lucky are we to even get this movie, and even luckier to get it WITH GAGA. Andy’s character arc is extremely important to me as an elder who hasn’t found love yet, and probably won’t ever, just statistically. Andy had no shame about it either when answering about her romantic life, I wish I could be like that. I’m selfishly a little sad they gave her a love interest cause I wanted that representation FURTHER but I get it, and she deserves it! Maybe I’ll get to be lucky/worthy someday. Anyway! she’s so fucking cool and created a fantastic life for herself. What a character. Big shoutout to the Bjork tee.

This being a first feature should make ALL of us hang our heads in shame. I loathe when people just regurgitate things that have already been said/state the obvious triumphs, so I’m just going to say nothing other than this was deeply upsetting and if I ever have a kid I’m sending them to camp with a bazooka. Double feature with Carrie would be so lovely (scary).

Sitting face to face with every scar bestowed upon your miserable existence, brought on by the guilt you helped exasperate. Scared me beyond measure. I’m not an artist of any capacity and have no artistic skills, but I do carry an immeasurable amount of guilt and sincere need to constantly explain my identity, though, I’m not even sure I have one. The lingering impact of one’s choices that your future self inherits, Jesus Christ. The anguish of even being alive. The entity in this isn’t scary or alarming, it’s a warning, a warning that lack of expression of your true self and lack of forgiveness of what once was, is a death sentence. The only way out is through. What I love most about Lowery’s direction in all his films is the lingering pain within the silence, it fills every inch of space, he puts feelings into the air like no other, what a gift and ultimately a sort of curse to the viewer who doesn’t want to feel, but desperately needs to. There is another movie coming out this year that will provide catharsis for many, but this one is mine. *I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. *

Casting Carol Kane as Natasha Lyonne’s Mom is actually perfect.
