Atonement
Very poetic.
I loved the editing, and what caught my attention—I love seeing it from each character's perspective—was the "feeling of remorse" that the film revolved around so strongly. When you want to atone for your mistakes, your feelings, your mistakes, your stupidity, and your ignorance of the truth—all from your own perspective, or are we talking about the perspective of a 13-year-old girl—does a person truly know how to forgive themselves and move on? Without regret, without feeling like they don't deserve all the good that happens to them? Even if things end differently, there will still be a gap. The different treatment is enough to open the wound a thousand times over. It cost her her entire life. She dies believing that everything she did to atone for her guilt wasn't enough.
(I've been through this, and I don't want it to end like this.)
