The fact that Ryan gosling has been a Hollywood heartthrob for 22 years is just so impressive. And Rachel McAdams drinking in the bath tub in her wedding veil is kinda peak cinema. The first time I watched this and it opened with him threatening to throw himself off the top of the Ferris wheel I truly thought I had been lied to about this movie being the standard for romance. It blows my mind though that people think him building her the house or writing every day for a year was the most romantic part of this movie and not him choosing to live in a retirement home for the rest of his life and reading a book of their entire love story to her every single day just so she can remember him for a few moments. No amount of houses or letter can top him giving up the rest of his life for her in order to give her back a few moments of hers. #literallycriedmywaterproofmascaraoff
