*Why didn’t I get hurt? You were wearing your seatbelt. * Thomas Hayden Church and Paul Giamatti play a duo that bring about the worst in each other. One, a reckless groom who can’t stop himself from his own impulsivity. Another best man who constantly gets in the way of his own enjoyment of life. Their dynamic is so fascinating to watch as they take a road trip through wine country. There’s something about that period from 2002 to 2006, where every movie just has a comforting warm glow to it. The movie’s pacing is so on point, I feel like no scene really overstays its welcome. I wish Hollywood would green light more thoughtful and fun scripts like this. An excellent watch, especially if you like wine.
