Prisoners
Very eery, and jake gyllenhaal.
At the end, where they hint at the fact that det. Loki found Keller, there actually should’ve been a scene where he finds him but it was cut. Bad decision, I wanted to see that. It would’ve been so satisfying.
Alex pissed me off. Like I get the fact that he was also a kidnapped child or what not. But bruh, be so for real. He knew where the girls were and instead of ratting out who he believed was his aunt, he endured torture. I don’t remember whether he died or not, and I can’t tell which I’d prefer.
I still don’t get why joy said keller was the one to put tape on their mouth. Like i get that he was in the house, but if they were in distance to see him, couldn’t he have seen them? And wouldn’t the hag have hidden them so he wouldn’t stumble upon em? It could be that they were so drugged that from just seeing his face they were hallucinating that the lady was him and he was the one taping em. Idk
But I really loved how you can see how each of the four distressed parents handled grief.
Anna’s mom wanted to sleep all day which probably alludes to a future addiction if her daughter was not found. She wanted to forget.
Keller on the other hand, he wanted to solve, to find their daughters. He tortured a man for just a hint. Shows how he would’ve blamed himself as he did in the short period that the girls were missing. Also a possible alcoholic.
Franklin on the other hand, he was ready to grieve. He hoped, prayed, that his daughter would be found but he was ready to accept that she may never be. Doesn’t mean he loved his daughter any less than Keller loved his, but more of how he believed in fairness and justice.
Joy’s mom was a mix. She was distraught (as she should), but instead of trying to forget, fight, or move on, she needed time to comprehend. She couldn’t understand how this could happen, why it would happen. But the second she got it all in, she started looking for answers. And even then, she wasn’t violent or aggressive.
