Info dumping in front of the mirror in the first 3 minutes for the audience 😭 the best part is when he started quoting the nicole Kidman AMC preview. Making ray the killer was so stupid, I get the repressed trauma thing im just not buying this twist. It felt more like “lets do something shocking just to be shocking”.

I feel bad for both Cindy and Dean and understand both. This film really feels like a realistic capture of a marriage thats already too far gone. Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling both show great range in Blue Valentine, both as their individual characters and their relationship as a whole. Their chemistry in the flashbacks is so good juxtaposed next to the stale current day relationship. They both really get to show off their talent here. Such a raw and sad movie, something I say I will never revisit but probably will.
