I don’t even know what this movie was about. The plot is so hard to follow in Wong Kar-Wai’s films its ridiculous. This one especially where you have no characters actually talking, only narrating, constant jumping between the hitman and the business partner and a bunch of love interests that I can’t tell apart. The cinematography wasn’t that bad, Wong Kar-Wai always does a solid job on his filming, but the constant cuts and rapid movement made it hard to follow. The action was cool, the camera work was incredible, and acting was par. But nothing I plan on seeing again, not a great film. 5.2/10

Now this was deep. First let me say, way too short of a film, and thats really what brings down my rating, the opportunity was there to make this much longer. The film stars Gyllenhaal as a history teacher who discovers an actor who looks identical to him, eventually switching lives for a short period of time. Or at least thats what the plot is on the cover. This is one of those films you gotta watch a video on after to hear the explanation. The entire film was an allegory to the multitude of psychological derailment one can pursue in life. Showcase by a theme of spiders, this alternate reality almost becomes its own consciousness. Great idea and story, the acting was great by Gyllenhaal, love him, but it was the run time, scriptwriting (very little talking and a-lot of long pauses), and this whole melodramatic eerie feeling that I got with the whole yellow color aspect of this film, which I didn’t love, about the color mainly its hard to explain, like I thought the movie in general was short, but the whole melodrama yellow tint was very prolonged and unnecessary. Overall its a good film 7/10 would recommend

wtf. I mean the cinematography was freakin peak, acting was crazy good, and the action oh my. The graphics were actually incredible, this was such a cool fun movie. 3.4/10 wtf did I just watch

Wow this was surprising. Whiplash but for Piano’s and there’s a whole crime plot. This was crazy unique, the story revolved around a young man with a acute sense of hearing making him have to wear ear plugs and headphones everywhere he goes. He works as a piano tuner, he eventually needs some money to save his mentor, so he uses his ability to crack safes to make a little dough. This eventually leads to his entire downfall, altho he did have his cute moments with the girl he found so that was nice. This movie was actually electric, the plot was constantly involving, a thrilling suspense, and not to mention an absolute brutal ending that had me looking away from the screen, it was visceral. The acting and score for this film were electric, Leo Woodall did a phenomenal job and the movie being about piano’s I’d hope there would be some good playing. It’s an 8.4/10 for me, thrilling, sad, romantic, and absolutely eletric
