Hairspray

this is probably my favorite musical ever. when this movie came out i was OBSESSED because it had zac efron. watching it now i still think its one of the funniest yet very powerful musicals ever. i didn’t even comprehend the whole civil rights aspect of when i was younger i just LOVED all the music, especially the new girl in down sequence. i think this musical can still be applied to a lot of the things going on in the world even almost 20 years later. the fact that this takes place in the 60s and is still very relevant to today—taking about human rights, body positivity, self expression and so much more shows how timeless this production is. john waters the man that you are!
