Bugonia
First of all, this is the fourth film by Yorgos Lanthimos that I have seen, and I must say that I am consistently impressed by the portrayal of spatiality in his films. I appreciate his wide-angle shots, each one is a work of art. The sound effects add to the overall atmosphere.
What I particularly appreciate about this film is that it blends various genres. It's sci-fi, comedy, and horror, and it also manages to integrate social criticism.
During the film, I was really looking forward to this kind of ending. I was sure it would end differently, but I wasn't disappointed because my wishes came true. I'm always impressed by how movies in general can manipulate viewers by only showing them specific things, and even though I had hoped for this ending beforehand, I was happy that it turned out that way.
The song at the end, together with the final scene, made it perfect and convinced me to give this movie 5 stars after all.
