Constantly teetering between gratuitous yet also somewhat effective tension. I will say I’m not a fan of this kind of subject matter typically as I think it can be very cheap unless done right and although this is going for an over the top type shit I found at times it did genuinelt with the context frighten me atleast to think about. And I like when a movie can actually be scary. And I thought it had a good mix of atmospheric and aggressive horror. But for the most part I’d say it kind of sucked story wise, acting wise, and even just the mannerisms of the deformed ppl just felt kinda goofy a lot. Feel like this could have been done a lot better

There was some charm but the series doesn’t feel quite right without Laurie

Started off rllt strong and kept me entertained for a while. The closer it kept to 3 hours it got more boring and convoluted. I couldn’t quite tell what was going on. Was it an allegory for beauty standards, war and the breakdown of society during an emergency? The failure of public servants to be prepared for conflict. Or was it just a fun movie? I genuinely couldn’t tell bc of the tone.
