The Interview
I was scared to put this movie on my Letterbox; not only for its massive controversial status but also because of its comical enigmatic irony, and suspicious general formatting. Nonetheless I realized that not only as an aid to my own personal entertainment, or integrity as a critic but additionally in regards to its effectiveness as a piece of media, this movie serves as the pinnacle for censorship debate, news making versus reporting intrigue, and deserves all, if not more acclaim for the way it pushes boundaries. At a first glance, this film can be seen in the same light as a dimming, to broken bulb, however upon further review, one discovers that its simple front is really a derisive impartial approach that is unjustly predicated on by its bovine victims, (By being so simple, and therefore self-insulting, it balances not only its obvious antagonist but also its credibility as a whole, being ironically a political scandal, presented in a political implement). Furthermore, this movies genre adheres to its construction in such a customary way; foreshadowing, pop culture allusive Macguffin, and humorous hyperbole, that it exemplifies its juxtaposed embedded narrative with humility, or serendipitous ignorance. My review is four stars not strictly because of what I saw on the screen but rather what the screen caused me to see outside of it.
