An absolute icon, legend, masterpiece. This was a staple of my childhood. 4 year old me thought this was hilarious and so much and 25 year old me still thinks the exact same thing. I could probably write an entire dissertation on why this film and how amazing it is.
If I had a nickel for everytime I learned James Gunn was involved in a movie I love, I’d have too many nickels to count.
There will never be a more iconic casting of Fred and Daphne as Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar (they’re literally them irl and no one can change my mind).
Matthew Lillard as Shaggy was probably the best casting decision anyone at Warner Bros. ever pulled off to this day. There aren’t enough words in the dictionary to say how much I love Matthew Lillard and what he’s done for the character of Shaggy.

Probably a hot take to most that this is ranked so high but if I had Letterboxd when I was 5 this would be my most watched movie of all time probably.
This movie has such a chokehold on my childhood that my dream vacation is to go to Scotland and see Loch Ness.
The setting is such a vibe. And all the added side characters are such a fun time (Dale is the best reoccurring side character by far). Frankly, this also has a pretty fire soundtrack as well.
Overall, a decent time. While not high on my personal ranking, it is a good story. Daphne being a motorcycle queen in this was impeccable. *chefs kiss*
