The Hunt
People always work from the presumption that children are telling the truth. And unfortunately, very often they are.
I'm a father of a girl about Klara's age and a dog-owner, so this hit me from many angles. This is an awful situation, and effectively captures the difficulty and nuance of what everyone is going through. There's such an intense fear of this (and rightfully so), and it's so tricky to try and understand the truth with children. Protectiveness leads to some leading questions, and while ultimately Klara doesn't say all that much or even really know or understand what she's saying, once the avalanche starts, Lucas is powerless to make it stop.
It's a well-constructed and complete story, there are great performances throughout, and best of all, it leaves on a final note of dread.
5/5 bad time, never want to experience again.
