The Queen's Gambit
Loved this one. Even though it doesn’t dive super deep into the technical side of chess, it still captures the spirit and tension of the game far better than most shows ever do. (Let’s be real, it’s a huge upgrade from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone where they just yeet pieces around with no logic.)
The vibe? Immaculate. The historical setting, the atmosphere, the cinematography — all top-tier. Fashion? Accurate and stylish. Acting? Peak. Anya Taylor-Joy owns the role, and every supporting character felt meaningful, not just filler.
It’s a story about more than chess — it’s about obsession, loss, genius, and finding control in chaos. Whether you love chess or can’t tell a rook from a bishop, you’ll still be hooked.
This is what a well-made series looks like. Nearly perfect — 9/10.
