The way this captures overthinking in such a realistic way bothers me on a personal level. I havent been this pissed watching a movie since Nosferatu. The rapid progression of Charlies mental decline really helps the pacing and the intensity. Charlie not being able to get bricked was one of the hardest watches. Emma having a heartagram shirt was not expected at all but was very cool. As far as everyone else goes Rachel was overexaggerating the entire movie and didnt need to do all that, it was 15 years ago. To be honest if I was in Charlies situation I wouldve let it slide, its just the simple principle that never she did it. No harm no foul.

I was expecting more rock themes to be in this but its good nonetheless. This movies humor is for very specific people, half the jokes hit and some didnt for me. I found the fourth wall breaks to be benifical for the movie in general just because it made it funnier. Garths character is kinda meh, he didnt really do much for me. Alice coopers inclusion was cool even if it was short too. I get why people like this movie alot but this doesnt totally grip me.

This definitely falls under a background noise movie. Its a fun simple watch but pacing is the main reason I say that, it never really picks up or slows down, just a steady tread. Majority of the movie is long dialogue and not much else, if you dont enjoy over the top extended comedic dialogue, this isnt for you. JDs subplot is alright but after a while it does get a bit boring with all the slapstick comedy. The lesson about appreciation is good but does take a while for it to get to the point. Good enough but wouldnt wanna watch this again for a while.

Not a huge fan of slow movies but this hit home. I love how grounded the entire movie feels. The environment of a small town and the interactions with the people though short feels so authentic. Every inconvenience slowly peeling off Gilberts shell helps the pacing and overall grasp of his situation. Arnie suprisingly never got annoying but he did need that punch for Gilberts sake. Going to Foodland and losing Betty for his family solidifed the start of his self control at the expense of his outer image. Becky foreshadowed that when she first met him. Burning the house down showed his true emotions for his mother while also symbolizing his now sense of freedom too. Joining Becky and finally leaving the town was the best way to end it all.
