Men not being able to recognize unicorns and wanting to own them is the same as men not being able to see a woman’s inner beauty and just wanting to "own" her. And King Haggard seeing joy in watching unicorns suffer is like men watching girlhood get destroyed and getting entertained by that. Also, Prince Eric definitely wouldn’t not let the unicorn stay as a human. Why isn’t Prince Lir as popular as the other ones????
