It's October! Scary movies! 18/31
Oh man, this is absolutely packed with subtext. I watched this right after Censor and couldn't stop thinking about Persona and Mulholland Drive with a bit of Inception mixed in for good measure. Really delicate in terms of the body horror, I only got the leg tingles once and that was in the beginning. Lots of suicide imagery, but it never felt like it was using suicide to get a rise, it really did feel required by the fiction.
The scenes where Colin and Tas are both talking simultaneously felt so so good and really pulled me into the story, that alone was so well-done it felt worth mentioning. This might be my favourite of this October so far, although Thelma is also in the running. They are both going to have repeat watches for sure.
