The Fall
If it were possible i would rate this more than 5 stars.
I genuinely don't know what's taken me so long to watch The Fall, because it's one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen.
The cinematography is absolutely breathtaking, every frame feels like a piece of art, yet it never overshadows the story. The way the film is structured, shifting between reality and Roy's fantastical tale, is so imaginative and captivating that I was completely drawn into it from start to finish.
Alexandria is hilarious without even trying to be, and her innocence brings so much warmth to the film. At the same time, it's deeply heartbreaking watching her relationship with Roy develop. What I loved most was how the story wasn't just Roy's; it became theirs. Roy constantly took Alexandria's ideas, misunderstandings, and imagination and wove them into the tale, transforming it from a simple adventure into something far more meaningful and personal. It felt like the fantasy was growing alongside their bond.
Beautiful, funny, devastating, and endlessly creative. A film that reminds you how powerful storytelling can be when it's shared.
