four-hour-long movie that kept me hooked every second, and i still yearned for more at the end; best cinema i've ever seen; it's everything and unique at the same time; melodramatic; over-the-top; comedic; tragic; sickening; idk how these guys in japan do it; maybe it’s their willingness and fearlessness to let seemingly unorthodox topics mix; perverts and up-skirt photography and christian guilt and pornography and young love and boners and family trauma and religious extremism and LGBTQ and teenage angst and cults and drag; all and more come together to create this flawless amalgamation; however, such would be in vain if the soundtrack, performances, and, most importantly, execution were not equally as perfect “Who cares about the standards of normal people?”
