The Thing

There are 2 things that make this movie perfect, the tension and the atmosphere. Every single scene from the opening with the dog to the end where they finally accept their fate is so exceptional at building tension. The idea of not knowing who “the thing” is really makes this movie exciting and interesting. Secondly the atmosphere is a large component to what makes this movie so great. The grotesque and disturbing figures of the thing make for such an unsettling atmosphere and I really think it builds on the impact of the story. Overall there are so many other factors to this movie like the setting and the characters that make it so great but what I think really makes this film stand out is that tension building and the unsettling atmosphere.
