While I still have not seen The Irishman, Little Women, and Once Upon a Time…In Hollywood I  am ready for declare 1917 as the winner of my 2019 best movie of the year. Director Sam Menses’ decision to show this movie as if it was one continuous shot really pays off in spades I’m terms of making the audience experience the events of this film right along side the protagonists in such an immersive way.
