So does England always look like an apoplectic nightmare? Not really my cup of tea tbh, I definitely understand the genius of David Thewlis performance as one of the biggest pieces of shite to be put to film, and Mike Leigh direction which has an effortless nature to it which makes the film feel much more naturalistic than it actually is, but at a certain point I did kinda get bored, not really at the scenes but more that I kinda knew what was gonna happen eventually which kinda took the shock out of it when shit inevitably hit the fan. I get that’s kinda the point, you definitely are not supposed to get enjoyment out of the film but idk not really something I want to rewatch. I also kinda thought that the monologues weren’t really saying anything that thought provoking and more just sounded like a guy who spent way too much on the wrong sides of the internet and was obviously mentally unwell, but again I think that’s kinda the point

Lowkey suitors are basically chuds cause they would just show up at your door, eat your food, and fuck around for like years and you couldn’t do anything about it
