Sinners

It’s good maybe even great but it has some glaring holes. Hard to not rate it high because we saw this in 70mm IMAX and it was completely immersive and the film is stunning to look at. Some absolutely incredible shots and loved the wide angle scenes with the heavy focus on the foreground.  However, at times it felt like a bunch of mash made to get a “wow” out of audience with no real purpose. Kinda tacky at times but did really love the first half. Just aspects of the second half feel so rushed and sorta diminish the world class background building that occurs in the first half.  Michael A and B Jordan felt like two separate people which is hard to do and this was Miles Calton’s first role ever?? Parts of this just feel like such a bait for social media clips and they ruined a big plot point by spoiling Hailee Steinfeld is evil in the trailer.  I got to see this in a format that only 9 theaters in the US have available so that was cool. Want to see this in normal imax tho to see if the sound is better ( it was a bit muddy).  I feel like I’m being too critical, so whatever, 4.5.
