Better Days
"你保護世界, 我保護你"
"You protect the world, I'll protect you."
—bullying, suicide, abandonment, protection, fear, loneliness, trying to cope, love, sacrifice, purpose
the camera work and the use of sound is done very well and down to the smallest details.
the scenes of "motivation for the final exam" with the motivational phrases hung everywhere are so impactful, in chinese culture (asian in general i think) there is a lot of unnecessary pressure from the school (it was so well portrayed, you can feel it through the screen) and all that is shown in contrast to the bullying that takes place in the same place and the street life that Xiao Bei is living;
he became Chen Nian's shadow
he didn't have anything, neither owned anything. he wasn't a bad person, and so he wanted to exploit what was his now already written destiny by doing at least one good thing in his life: protect his loved one.
the vibes were so melancholic i just couldn't help but cry most of the time.
*"if this is how the world works,
would you bring a child into it?!"*
#chinese#i want to be in love too#chemistry!!#youth♡
