Boyhood
*"The world is so beautiful...
*and i'm such a big loser."
an outstanding kdrama in every aspect.
perfect ambience, adrenaline provoking fights, beautiful cinematography, one of the most well composed, SUITABLE and ADDICTIVE ost (even if you haven't seen it i recommend you listen to it: Double of nothing by Norazo), perfectly executed twists, incredible acting (i love you, Yim Siwan, my favourite loser [you're just like me]. i would do anything for you), even the romance storyline was displayed very well, it fitted greatly in the plot and gave a refreshing sense after all that unfair and continuous whooping.
the twists, as i said, were crazy. i so innocently believed the real Asan Baekho and Bumtae could've been friends in that specific episode.
anyways, one thing that made me cry a lot and be desperate was the frienship between Hoseok and Byungtae, it was one of the most genuine and pure i've ever seen.
Byungtae's change in the last 2 episodes is portrayed in a very clear way: in the previous episodes he trains hard and is extremely dedicated to his goal, and so it's not difficult to understand how he became like that.
he didn't go from loser to hero.
he went from loser, to fake hero, to loser, to the hero that changed the destinies of his peers at a small agricultural high school somewhere in Chungcheong province of South Korea.
and yet at the end, after all this, he feels the same character to us watchers because he still preserved those principles of his that he always had; we can see that especially because after hurting the first bully he felt bad.
"Do you know how it feels to wake up hating your life.. because you're scared of going to school?"
*"Life ain't something you can just throw away.
Every life is precious, okay?
But you don't even value your own life!"*
i loved seeing this part of South Korea and how teenagers of the countryside were living in the late 80s.
so fun, so entertaining and i still got some really good lessons of life.. one of the best kdramas ever.
