this is one of those coming of age movies that actually understands how embarrassing it is to be a teenager. nadine isnt always likable, but that’s kind of the point. shes super messy, dramatic, selfish, lonely, and trying so hard to be understood that she pushes away the people who actually care about her. it made me laugh way more than i expected, then randomly hit me with scenes that felt way too real. growing up is humiliating and this movie gets that better than most.

i wish i could watch this for the first time again i watched this thinking it was gonna be sad and somehow it was worse 😭 this movie doesn’t try to make addiction look dramatic or deep , it just shows how exhausting and heartbreaking it is for everyone involved. timothe chalamet and steve carell were both insanely incredible, and some scenes genuinely made me have to pause for a second, like when his dad started singing beautiful boy by john lennon i burst out in tears. its one of those movies that just sits in your head after it’s over. i dont know if i ever wanna watch it again but im really glad i did.
