Godzilla

“Godzilla was baptised in the fire of the hydrogen bomb and survived… what could kill him now” This film is amazing, going into it obviously it’s a classic obviously it’s most likely going to be good but oh my god, this is an amazing philosophical drama, Godzilla isn’t even in the movie that much but the writing is just so gorgeous, Serizawa is one of my favourite written scientists I’ve seen in a film and the contrast between the h bomb, Godzilla and the oxygen killer and the discussions it causes is just so engaging and well done. Of course technically the music is amazing, there’s some honesty quite striking shots and my god those miniatures are just so amazing. Given the sobering tone of this movie I am so interested in how it gets to the silly goofy bullshit I know is a majority of this series.
