Solid Serenade

This seven-minute short animation can be watched here: Tom & Jerry Solid Serenade I've always had Tom and Jerry on the second tier of classic animated cartoon. That is NOT BAD. I'd say that I have at least five tiers with Mickey, Bugs, the Animaniacs, and a few others on the top tier. My second tier is filled with great cartoon characters and shows like Rockey and Bullwinkle, The Pink Panther, Underdog, Mr. Peabody, Betty Boop, etc. Someday, I should actually write out the tiers---anyway... This is one of the more interesting Tom and Jerry cartoons that I have seen. The biggest thing that stands out is that Tom talks (or sings, anyway). I found it very interesting that just in this short, they used three people to voice Tom--Buck Woods was the jazzy singing voice, William Hanna did the screams, and Billy Bletcher did the laughs. The hijinks in this one provided quite a few laughs--more with Tom and the dog than with Jerry. Overall, I enjoyed this Tom and Jerry. It is one of my favorites of the franchise.
