Godzilla Minus One
I don’t know what I expected from this but it really caught me off guard with just how good it was. The characters were all very much likeable, especially Doc, he’s my favourite. The story felt somehow grounded despite it being about a giant radioactive lizard, and the sparing usage of Godzilla made him all the more terrifying when he did appear. Every time you heard that roar is was an immediate “oh shit” moment.
I cared about the characters, storyline, and felt scared of Godzilla. That’s everything a Godzilla film really needs and it felt like the best introduction to the franchise that I could possibly have gotten. I’m interested in what they’re planning for the sequel.
Godzilla also looked incredible which is insane for how low of a budget this film had, I honestly don’t know how they did it…
