It is a very intimate and personal story and explores introversion very well, it fundamentally is a story about change, from being an observer of life to an active participant in your own happiness.
I really enjoy how it portrays Amelie's attempts at control and physical distance in creative way through the mystery and fantasy of the stratagems.
