Angst

Prisons exist so one can better oneself. But that urge to torture a human, that's one thing I never could get rid of.I find this film strangely magnetic, it's the kind that doesn't allow you to look away. Erwin Leder's performance is marvelous and hypnotic even, his portrayal is unrelenting and bordering on animalistic, one of if not the best depiction of a sadistic predator. The camera is definitely the finest aspect of the film, it's suffocating and clinical, granting a front row without the audience empathizing with the killer— it dissects the vile mind piece by piece.
