Freaky Friday
i love anna coleman sm. i feel such a deep connection to her — like that oldest sister energy, having a younger brother who’s annoying, loud, and always fighting with you. it feels way too familiar. her vibe, her style, her attitude, everything about her just clicks with me. i genuinely adore her.
when she switches bodies with her mom, she’s actually so cool handling everything, but i can’t lie — sometimes i get secondhand embarrassment watching her. every body-swap movie does that to me. i feel awkward, i cringe a little, i look away… but that’s also part of the charm. it’s uncomfortable in a funny way.
beneath all the chaos, this movie really delivers its message. it shows how much we fail to understand each other until we’re forced to live someone else’s life. anna and her mom finally see each other, and that makes the story hit emotionally without being too heavy.
and can we talk about the vibe and the music? absolutely iconic. early 2000s energy, rebellious, fun, loud, and full of heart. this movie just feels alive.
honestly, i wish i could know more about anna’s life after everything — especially her relationship with jake. i wanted more of them, more moments, more story. but still, freaky friday will always be one of those comfort movies that i love coming back to.
