Conclave
As a Catholic, I find this film very interesting, its way of talking to us about faith by showing us real humans fighting against them and admitting their mistakes in a way that they always questions themselves.
It's really a good portrait of faith, this portrait is very rarely done in Catholic films unfortunately, and I think that it also opens us up to many new ways of seeing the church.
Sadly the church has always been for me something that made me doubt my religion, the second a priest does something bad we must ALL question our faith, and our faith in the church. This is very symbolic and even important.
If we stop doubting, the church will never move forward. Every step we take must be thought of with love and respect for ourselves and others.
**If tomorrow something is soiled by some Christians, us Christians who fight for a better world, must doubt of all of us.
**
There is one sin, which I have come to fear above all others. Certainty. Certainty is the great enemy of unity. Certainty is the deadly enemy of tolerance.
...hope for progress in our policy to move towards a more diverse church which represents love as God taught us is the only thing we can do.
