Oh yeah rewatching s1 for s2. I love when Woo-Jin be doing that whole marine salute it’s so funny.

> *“Twisted fucker orphaned that glove on purpose. Left you with one so the loss would sting that much more.”*I’m happy he got his cherry jubilee! I love the 1970s aesthetic of this movie; the camera quality, the shots, the music, the nostalgia. Such a Christmas comfort move. I love their trio so much; superb acting from them. I think the one thing not a lot of people talk about is Mary’s empathy. Throughout the movie, no matter the insults people threw at her for her way of expressing her grief, she stays grounded and sympathized with the boys. She knew what it felt to be alone especially on Christmas and for these boys it was their parents choose; they chose to leave them alone. Mary didn’t. So she knew it would be extra hard on them. What a reminder that everyone is fighting their own battles and you never really know what anyone has been through. A reminder to be compassionate with the people around you, let us lead with kindness and empathy. The fact that they had the same medication, oh I feel sick.

lowkenuinely how I felt driving with my dad.

> *“I cry so much sometimes I feel like imma turn into drops.”*I loved this movie so much. It was stunning to watch. *“You the only man that’s ever touched me. You the only one”. *Fuck bro I’m gonna cry. Can they just kiss and make up bruh. Part three of the movie gave me false hope that Juan didn’t die because I genuinely thought that was him, and then when I realized that was actually Chiron I balled my eyes out because the parallels between them were crazy. I immediately could tell part two was Chiron grown up and I read somewhere that the director didn’t let the three of them meet so they wouldn’t mimic each other and it’s genuinely such a great concept and pretty astounding to see how similar they looked. When I got to part three, Chiron just felt different you know? Like I think he was suppressing his true self, and once Kevin calls, I see the true Chiron coming back. A beautiful movie, deeply emotional acting, and a great story. The tension between them throughout the movie oh my gosh. The ending was my favorite because we get a flashback to when Chiron’s a baby near the ocean and the moonlight on his makes him look blue. Remember that Juan was telling him he had to decide who to be and he tells him this right after telling him about the old lady who said black men in the moonlight are blue. I think it’s symbolistic to reference that conversation because we see Chiron struggling throughout his whole life to figure out who he is and here we see that he’s finally accepting himself. And then he goes and spills to Kevin and it ends there. An open ending and maybe a future??
