It doesn't know what it wants to be. Wants to be as meaningful and sentimental as **Mysterious Skin**, but also as vulgar and explicit as **Secretary**, but but also comedic, lighthearted, and romantic. Don't get me wrong it tries something new and this genre needs some innovation, but **Pillion** just ends up failing to have its own identity, rather feeling like a melting pot of incohesive ideas.
