Despicable Me

This movie had absolutely no right being this emotionally effective. On paper it’s ridiculous — bald supervillain with a freeze ray, tiny yellow chaos creatures speaking gibberish, plan to steal the moon — and yet somehow it turns into one of the sweetest adoption stories in animated movie history??
