You and Everything Else
Even if it’s just once, I wish I could truly understand how Sang-Yeon feels
Watching You and Everything Else is like watching a Murakami adaptation. Filled with wounded characters, it leads to obsession and self-destruction. There is a scene in the series that really stuck with me, where everyone in the bar celebrates their national team’s success in the World Cup, yet there’s Sangyeon, just sitting there with empty eyes, thinking about something else. Watching what happened to her throughout the series, I really hope, no matter how wrong she is, that for once she gets things in her favor.
P.S. A hat trick of great projects for Kim Go-Eun, after Exhuma and Love in the Big City, while also delivering a fantastic performance. But, also a shoutout to Park Ji-Hyun, who I think gave her best performance yet. Thanks to both of them for delivering probably my new favorite K-drama ever.
