Ginger Snaps
I think if I had watched this film at 15, I would have deeply resonated with the character of Brigitte. However, I am glad I didn’t see it back then, as it probably would have been incredibly distressing.
Ginger Snaps is a fascinating movie that explores complex themes through the lens of horror. It explores growing up and the seeming lack of control that comes with it. It explores the realities of being a young woman. And it explores growing apart, people changing, and that sometimes you have to let those people go.
Between its engaging characters and sense of tragic inevitability, this was an excellent movie. However, I’m unsure if I would watch it again as it was rather emotionally taxing.
