Super obvious choice but its aged incredibly well and changed filmmaking in so many ways

I'm not a wilder diehard but i wanted an "underrated" choice and i feel like wilder has done so much he deserves to have at least one movie in the top 100

Timeless classic plus i wanted to include a more lighthearted pick because true art isn't always angsty

Its seven samurai

A sight and sound list wouldnt be complete without an old japanese movie (and my list has 2 old japanese movies lmao)

represents new hollywood and the changing shifts in american cinema

also represents new hollywood and as the first blockbuster it deserves recognition plus im a big spielberg guy

big carpenter fan plus its my favorite horror movie, wanted to include a few genre pictures in here

one of the best movies of all time, no other reason really its just perfect

my favorite movie of all time plus lynch deserves at least 1 movie on the list plus its 2 decades plus old which shows its had a lasting legacy
