This madness is only the beginning of the masterpiece of Charlie Kaufman and Spike Jonze: Adaptation. Masterpiece that manages, through its intricate narrative architecture, to speak intelligently and brilliantly about cinema in cinema, mixing the private life of Charlie Kaufman with his reflections on the principles of the script and how they can be ignored or bypassed; how adaptation can be the only solution to survive in the world around us. The film is thus revealed as a unique experience of meta cinema, in which one of the most brilliant American screenwriters opens totally, speaking of a tormented himself in a labyrinthine plot in which the cinema itself is described in perhaps the purest and most sincere way; and in which the limits of individuals and their need to adapt to grow and mature are portrayed.
