Leviticus
would you rather choose a “cannibalism as a metaphor for love daughter” or “entities taking over the body of your most beloved” son?
in all seriousness, the concept of this movie is so brilliant and terrifying. it’s also the kind of movie that becomes even more petrifying if you stretch out more different possibilities. for instance, was the demon simply brought upon them through religious ritual? or is it because in the eyes of the religious, a shared kiss between two young men is so sinful beyond repentance that what it solely requires is a barbaric demon trying to make them scared of each other’s love? or, does one’s body seek another in an unfathomable measure... that the most cherished, loved, and desired someone to such extent was summoned unknowingly?
*just the thought of spending your life with the twisted counterpart of your beloved, always hunting, always aiming to hurt you—so much so that you will grew horrified of each other, is an incredible horror on its own.

*although what the movie conveyed is far more amazing. despite actively running away from a demon, that meant running away from the person you loved the most, and yet defying that very fear and getting with them despite paying the cost of living with both the undying horror and incontrollable desire—is wow.
