Was trying to think of my most "rewatchable" movies earlier today and this is surely up there for me. Has such an engaging rhythm and style to it that really draws you in. Really really loving and heartfelt, and the way he's working through so much of this in real time is just so heartbreaking and honest. I hold so much respect for this special and will probably come back to it time and time again.

Commitment to the bit on an astronomical level and I respect the hell out of that. I lived, laughed, and loved this more than any other movie this year. #J'aur #Ma'veyyo #Hope

Forever impressed with how prescient this movie is about what reality TV becomes, how it has evolved into 24 hour streamers on twitch and the like, the merging of media advertising and the platforms they're on (I'm thinking of Amazon's built-in advertising function where you pause a show or movie of theirs and it'll present you with a link right to the clothes or song or food they're referencing on screen), the elevation of tech/silicon valley bros into god-like figures who we're all aware are controlling things beyond our comprehension but a lack of regulation around those individuals and their insidious goals, the surveillance state, etc., etc... A truly forever movie which manages to be light and fun as easily as it is horrifying.

Speed and Trixie are everything to me!!!! Just as good on a rewatch, this movie is absolutely fabulous and ecstatic and pushing the medium to its absolute limits. Also just a forever relevant movie in the way it dissects sports and entertainment into the wealth and power structures that actually control them. ESPECIALLY today with how prevalent and unregulated online sports betting has become and the way teams will illegally leverage losses and fix games to score money for their close friends. And I'm not even locked in on the sports world at all I'm sure this shit is even more insidious than I can even fathom.
