horrible critical interpretation of hamlet imho. also i’m not sure that even the movie is convinced agnes is the main character of this movie? jessie buckley is great in the role, but i wish i felt like shakespeare wasn’t looming in the background the whole time and actually got to focus on agnes

wildly disappointed by this one. the metaphor of vampirism as modern white colonialism is solid, and the movie looks good. the movie, however, has horrible pacing and editing, and treats its women horribly. the only “good” women in this movie are mothers, and the rest are only characterized by the way they have sex with the men in this movie. i wish i liked this one!
